“I was heartened by the warm hospitality and community spirit that greeted me during my visit to the Park Road Masjid. Thank you to those who spoke with me and I hope we can continue our conversations in the future.”
“Reading is an important part of life, whether it be for work or for pleasure. We must encourage our children to pick up a book and dive into one of the many worlds created by incredible authors.”
This campaign by Save the Children aims by 2025 to ensure every child is reading well before the age of 11 – Read On Get On
Victoria spent an afternoon in the Spring sunshine at The Warriner School’s Lambing Weekend on Saturday 7th March 2015. Accompanied by her three year old niece, she spoke with Head Teacher, Dr Annabel Kay, about how the school is going from strength to strength, and how all of the school’s staff and pupils can be proud of recent results.
Sixth Form students with an interest in fields such as veterinary science are provided with fantastic hands on agricultural experience through the school farm. For the first time, the school is preparing for students to sit their A2s this Summer. After opening in September 2013, the school’s Further Education offering has proved immensely popular.
“The school farm is an innovative way of familiarising students with agricultural practices, inside and alongside a mainstream education. It helps teach responsibility, smallholding skills and respect for our natural environment.”
