It was a real privilege to join in today's Armed Forces Day celebrations in Banbury alongside our Town Mayor, the Lord Lieutenant and my predecessor and High Steward, Sir Tony Baldry. It was fantastic to see so many out celebrating our Armed Forces with the town centre filled with stalls of military organisations and charities. I really enjoyed chatting with cadets, veterans, and current service men and women, on this very special day.
The day culminated in a fly over of the Spitfire and Hawker Hurricane in the afternoon which was a spectacle to see.
It was great to see the reopening of Tooley’s Boatyard take place on the same day. I was among many visitors to flock down to experience one of the oldest working dry docks in England.
