I enjoyed an exciting visit to British electric vehicle manufacturer Arrival's Bicester Microfactory last week. It was great to tour the state-of-the-art facility which opened just last year.
My visit coincided with the launch of the first production verification Van assembled using autonomous mobile robots instead of a traditional assembly line. The United Parcel Service (UPS) are one of many companies to have orders already in place with mass rollout close on the horizon.
It was amazing to see such cutting-edge manufacturing taking place right here in Bicester, reinforcing Oxfordshire’s credentials as a world-leading centre for R & D. Arrival truly are reinventing how we think about design and production.
While visiting, I was interested to learn more about the company’s future plans from President Avinash Rugoobur which are focused on helping to accelerate our net-zero transformation.
