I was pleased to visit Katharine House Hospice in Adderbury last week where I met CEO Emma Radley and Chair of the Board Sir Tim Jenner.
Katharine House has been undergoing significant refurbishments to enhance its facilities. The hospice has increased bed space by 25% this month which will allow the team to improve the support they are giving to patients with life limiting conditions.
Katharine House Hospice is an incredibly special place in our community, supporting over more than 1,300 patients with life limiting conditions each year. It was good to hear how well the team have been getting on and to see some of the refurbishments that have taken place which will enable the team to continue providing high-quality care to those they look after. I think we can all agree just how well the partnership between Katharine House Hospice and Oxford University Hospitals has been going. Working in such a joined-up way has brought with it many advantages including improved specialist care.
It is important that we carry on doing everything we can to support and protect our much loved local hospice.
