On 26 September Victoria Prentis, Member of Parliament for North Oxfordshire, visited Merton Street Mosque to discuss a variety of issues and engage with members of the local Muslim community.
Speaking afterwards, Victoria said:
“We have a large Muslim community in Banbury so it was really important to me to visit the Mosque to hear from local members about issues affecting them. I always enjoy visiting the mosque and have also found regular lunches with Muslim and Christian women to be very valuable.
The visit provided a useful opportunity to catch up on issues including the growing need for additional burial ground and provision of local spaces for holding community groups and classes. I took away a number of action points which I will now set in motion. I look forward to future meetings.”
