There are tight deadlines for registering for postal votes for the upcoming EU Elections on 23 May.
Those wishing to apply for a postal vote, must do so before 5pm this evening. I have asked whether this can be moved but registration deadlines / postal deadlines and proxy deadlines, are all statutory deadlines that cannot be amended.
There is guidance on the Cherwell District Council and Electoral Commission websites. If you have not yet submitted a post vote application, hardcopies are not required and applications can be scanned and emailed to the elections team – [email protected]. Alternatively they can be handed in at any CDC office in Banbury, Bicester or Kidlington and do not need to be delivered by the individual requesting the postal vote.
If an elector will not be around to receive their postal vote, they are able to appoint a proxy who can vote at the electors usual polling station. The deadline for proxy applications is 5pm on Wednesday 15 May.
Application forms and more information can be found here: https://www.cherwell.gov.uk/info/11/elections/497/elections-2019/2
