Response to East West Rail consultation

Bicester

Over the past few weeks East-West Rail Company held their second non-statutory consultation on their plans for the Oxford-Cambridge line, including the London Road Crossing. We have been discussing the crossing for a number of years. While I welcome the proposals put forward by East-West Rail to find a long-term solution, I remain concerned that in practice they may not take us any further forward.

London Road Level Crossing

Barrier down time at the London Road level crossing has long been a cause of concern in Bicester. This is expected to get worse as East West Rail is completed and an increased number of services operate through Bicester.

Dissolution Update

At midnight tonight, Parliament will be dissolved. From that point, there will no longer be any MPs until after the General Election which will take place on 4 July. While Parliament may not be sitting, my office can deal with urgent casework enquiries only via the usual channels.
