It is really good news that a local testing site has opened at Woodgreen Leisure Centre in Banbury. The walk-through facility will improve the accessibility of coronavirus testing for all those living in North Oxfordshire.
If you experience a high temperature, a new continuous cough, or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste, you should book a coronavirus test via www.nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling 119. The new site is situated so that it is easily accessible without a car. Those being tested will be required to follow public health measures, including social distancing, not travelling by taxi or public transport, practising good personal hygiene and wearing a face covering throughout, including while travelling to and from the testing centre.
My thanks to the Department for Health and Social Care, Cherwell District Council, Parkwood/Legacy Leisure and all the clubs who use the Leisure Centre regularly for all their support over the past few weeks to get the testing site up and running.
I received a letter from the Health Minister, Lord Bethell, about the new site which can be found below He reiterated that the Government's commitment to expanding and improving our test and trace system with new technologies and innovations so everyone with symptoms can get a test. The new walk-in sites make it easier to get a test no matter where you live.
