Reading books has always been a passion of mine. I really enjoy getting lost in a good book for a few hours at the weekend and am pleased that I have passed on my love of books to my children. Now I just need to work on the sheep!
Today we mark #worldbookday, a fantastic annual initiative that changes lives through a love of books and shared reading. According to the OECD, reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator of a child’s future success, more than family circumstances, parents’ educational background or income.
I hope lots of children in North Oxfordshire are able to find joy in reading and make the most of the £1 World Book Day books which they can get free with their £1 book token. #ShowYourShares #worldbookday2021.
