The educational roadshow Bin It! has launched a new school competition, Bin It Your Way! For over 15 years, Bin It! has worked with Mars Wrigley to develop an engaging performance, for schools across the country to educate children on the importance of responsible behaviour around the disposal of litter and waste.
This year, Bin It! was due to celebrate the brilliant milestone of reaching 250,000 pupils through the programme. Unfortunately, owing to coronavirus, performances have been postponed because of restrictions in schools. To ensure that Bin it! can still share its very important message with young people within the local community, they have launched the Bin It Your Way challenge. Students who enter could win £500 worth of sports equipment for their school.
The England women’s football team, The Lionesses, have partnered with Bin it! for this fantastic competition. To find out how the Lioness players perform trick shots to Bin It their way visit @BinItEducation on twitter.
The coronavirus pandemic has highlighted just how important it is to protect our environment, by keeping our streets and green spaces clean. The campaign aims to build on the success of Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British September Clean, to encourage young people to keep their streets clean and dispose of litter in the bin. I think that the Bin It Your Way challenge offers a unique opportunity for schools in my constituency to demonstrate their passion for tidy streets, and the need for communities to take care of their rubbish.
