Visit to Finmere

Today I visited Finmere after receiving a number of reports that the odour at the Landfill Facility has been particularly strong in recent weeks.

I met Parish Group Liaison Representatives Cllr Mike Kerford-Byrnes and Barbara Cunningham, as well as Ward Councillor Ian Corkin, to discuss residents' concerns. It is disappointing that the odour continues to impact village life.

I remain in regular contact with the Environment Agency on this. Next week I am meeting Environment Minister Rebecca Pow to discuss what further action can be taken to make life better for the village.

Dissolution Update

At midnight tonight, Parliament will be dissolved. From that point, there will no longer be any MPs until after the General Election which will take place on 4 July. While Parliament may not be sitting, my office can deal with urgent casework enquiries only via the usual channels.
