I was delighted to hear that so many schools in my North Oxfordshire constituency had been successful in this year’s round of Condition Improvement Fund projects. The bids are the result of an enormous amount of work behind the scenes by staff at the schools so I am really pleased that their hard work has paid off. The money will make a real difference. I am looking forward to following progress of the various projects as they move forward. The Fund, which is run by the Department for Education, is open annually for eligible schools to apply for money to support projects to keep school buildings safe and in good working order.
It was great to visit the Warriner Multi-Academy Trust, one of the successful recipients, today and meet Chief Executive Dr Annabel Kay. The Trust secured funding for projects at four of its schools and will see significant improvements to the fabric of some of our older buildings.
Speaking about the grant, Dr Annabel Kay added: “We are delighted to have been awarded nearly 2 million pounds for capital projects this year. Since forming the trust in 2015 our schools have successfully bid for just over 5 million pounds. This money has enabled us to ensure that our school buildings are maintained to the very highest standards."
