The National Farmers’ Union Christmas reception was a jolly affair at Westminster before we rose for Recess. Our farmers work all year round, in all weathers, to provide quality produce for us. They have faced significant challenges this year. Putin’s illegal invasion of Ukraine has caused substantial global supply chain disruption and sent input costs spiralling, while our poultry farmers are facing an unprecedented avian influenza outbreak.
We can all do our bit by buying British – whether it’s the turkey, the pigs in blankets or even the sprouts! – over the Christmas period.
