As part of my ongoing Digital Connectivity Review, I was pleased to meet Will Black from the BT Group in Parliament to discuss their plans for North Oxfordshire.
My Connectivity Survey has highlighted a number of mobile not-spots which still persist in our area. It was therefore great to hear that EE are committed to tackling these through the Shared Rural Network.
Additionally, I was delighted to learn that Banbury has been announced as one of EE’s new 5G locations, meaning many more constituents will be able to benefit from faster speeds and improved service locally.
The results of my survey also demonstrated that there is significant demand for full fibre broadband across our area. Will assured me that the BT Group are working at pace to rollout full fibre coverage across North Oxfordshire which will enable thousands of residents to access faster and more reliable broadband.
Although there is much more to be done, this is extremely welcome news. I look forward to further discussions on the findings of my survey with mobile and broadband providers throughout the year.
