It was brilliant to welcome the Warriner School to Parliament this afternoon.
The group enjoyed a tour of the Palace before I got some time to speak to them in Westminster Hall. They had a busy day ahead with a visit to the Churchill War Rooms to follow!
NHS dentistry was hit hard by the pandemic and, in many parts of the country, is still in recovery. While services have been improving with 23% more treatments delivered last year compared to the previous year, there is still progress to be made.
I welcome Councillor Gant’s decision this afternoon to defer the 20 mph proposals for Banbury. I am pleased that he has listened to the concerns raised by residents and the Town Council about the plans in their current form.
Tomorrow morning, Oxfordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport Management will be considering proposals to introduce a widespread 20 mph speed limit zone in Banbury.
Blackthorn was badly hit by flooding over the New Year. I visited the village on Friday with Cllr Ian Corkin to see the situation on the ground for myself now that water levels have receded.
I have been reassured that the Environment Agency are continually monitoring our river levels locally. More rainfall is forecast tomorrow which may cause rises and further increase the risk that some properties could experience some flooding.
